The ISEK working group and the IG Dorf see the project „Dorfgemeinschaftshaus Biebernheim (DGH)“ on the right track
After more than six years ago the project „Dorfgemeinschaftshaus Biebernheim“ was revived by dedicated citizens because, among other things, the closure of the former restaurant „Zur Linde“ had created a new option in the center of the village, the implementation of the lengthy decision-making processes now seems to be on the right track.
With a citizens’ initiative and a resulting citizens’ referendum, the then majority of the Sankt Goar council (after an initially contrary vote) was obliged to further implement the project concept. During this process, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate approved a comprehensive funding package totaling approximately €10 million for urgently needed renovation work at Burg Rheinfels and for a village revitalization with the construction of a village community house for the Sankt Goar-Biebernheim district.
Various variants are being examined by the Trier Supervisory and Service Directorate (ADD) for the project concept of a village community house, including the variant of a village community house in the center of the town on the premises of the restaurant „Zur Linde“.
After the final presentation of the ISEK procedure last summer, a working group called „ISEK AG Dorfgemeinschaftshaus“ updated the existing design options with a spatial program. In this process, both ideas from interested citizens were taken into account as well as the needs of local associations, and these were incorporated into the concept.
In parallel, a new valuation report adapted to the current circumstances was prepared for the property „Zur Linde“ with all associated buildings and areas by a publicly appointed expert.
Questions from the ADD supervisory authority regarding the submitted space program were answered shortly based on the proposed concept. The space concept is now being reviewed by the relevant authorities and will lead to a fundamental economic analysis in the future.
In the event of a positive result, this leads to the next steps, such as, in some cases, concrete purchase negotiations based on the existing valuation report.
In the event of a successful outcome, it is ultimately up to the city council to positively approve both the purchase and the construction of the long-awaited project of a „Village Community House Biebernheim“.
With a final clarification and decision, it can therefore be expected within the foreseeable future.
