Because of the <strong>Wedding veil <\/strong>The named street and the gate of the city wall led her to the church located in front of the city gates. Beyond the city wall, the street continued on to the path leading to the Rheinfels hill, and for this reason the Veil Street was formerly called Burggasse. With the demolition of the adjacent section of the city wall and the construction of the railway line, which was sacrificed in order to connect to the Rheinfels hill, the Veil Street has lost its former importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike the other side streets, the Schleiergasse is home to numerous historical depictions: The house named after it, built in 1682 by Hospital Master Johann Heinrich Maul in a richly decorated half-timbered style and named after him at the lower end of the street, and the direct view of the city fortifications\u2019 office tower make the alley a popular motif for romantic city views for generations.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wer einst in der katholischen Kirche von St. Goar den Bund der Ehe schlie\u00dfen wollte, musste die Schleiergasse durchqueren.
